This role is a 8 Month Fixed Term Contract covering maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate export documentation and invoices to enable timely payment from customers
  • Provide general administration/secretarial support services to Export Managers including liaison with shipping agents, export depots, banks etc.
  • Telephone liaison with overseas sales offices & foreign customers as necessary
  • Credit control including producing statements and chasing customers or their bankers for payments as necessary
  • Production of export documents and sales invoices
  • Assisting the Export Manager and relevant commercial and site managers in invoicing customers, ensuring receipt of payment, including chasing them or their bankers for payments if necessary
  • Updating spreadsheets with the accurate information
  • Liaise with Sims sites for the timely planning of export loads
  • Plan and action container bookings with ocean carriers and freight forwarders
  • Process freight invoices

Qualifications:


  • Strong ICT skills, in particular Excel
  • Previous experience in a shipping or logistics industry would be an advantage, but not essential
