My client is a fast-paced and growing opticians based in Reading looking to expand their team due to continued success They are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive receptionist to assist with the administration and customer service in the branch.


Key responsibilities:


  • Create great first impressions to customers and patients
  • Book appointments and organise optometrist diary's
  • Meet and greet patients enthusiastically
  • Enthusiastically educate and help patients understand the benefits of different products.
  • Listen and understand the needs of each patient, and ensure they receive the best eyecare possible.
  • Help maintain a smart, tidy, and clean practice
  • Assist with Health and Safety procedures and promote H&S procedures.
  • Always look presentable and well groomed.
  • Ensure you listen actively to what patients are saying. Make sure your discussions with other patients and staff cannot be overheard.

Appointment making:


  • Follow the appointment making protocols in order maximise our diary capacity.
  • Manage the diary proactively to maximise bookings
  • Listen and understand patient's precise needs so that the correct appointments are made.

Personal Development:


  • Participate fully in your onetoone meetings, training, meetings, and other events designed to enhance the practice and the team.
  • Maintain your own personal development plan and continue to learn and develop your professional and people skills.
  • Keep your knowledge up to date

Please note the working hours are Monday-Saturday 8:45-17:30 with a day off in the week (therefore a 5-day working week).
