Transport Coordinator - Supply Chain & Logistics - Manchester - £32,000 pa

About the company


Our client is currently looking for an experienced Transport Coordinator (specifically with flatbed planning experience) to work at their base near Worsley as part of their flatbed and specialist logistics service.

This is a great opportunity to work with a well-established, vastly experienced national haulage company.

Transport Coordinator - The Rewards

  • Salary £32,000 pa
  • Annual Attendance Bonus £250 £500
  • Mon to Fri; 8 am 6 pm
  • 1 in 3 weekends on call cover

Transport Coordinator - Requirements

  • Experience in flatbed or specialist logistics planning
  • Previous experience in working in a fastpaced transport environment
  • Excellent UK geographical knowledge
  • Working experience of Mandata or similar Transport Management System
  • Working experience of Tachomaster or similar
  • Current transport legislation knowledge (CPC Desirable)
  • IT literate and proficient in MS Office

Transport Coordinator - Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external customers, departments and other depots to plan routes, schedule delivery times to ensure the smooth running of the operation, and ensure vehicles are utilized in the most efficient manner
  • Prioritise and plan drivers' workloads, ensuring driver brief and debriefs are carried out without exception
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with drivers, keeping a consistent and accurate flow of information
  • Develop strong organizational skills to compile a robust traffic plan
  • Proactively work to reduce late deliveries and missed time slots
  • Flag up issues to line management in good time, suggest solutions to issues/problems
  • Maintain traffic management system (TMS) to ensure all details entered are accurate and completed in full
  • Ensure adherence to Transport Operation compliance levels, with regards driver tachograph, working hours and vehicle servicing requirements
  • Promote and encourage health and safety adherence, and mindful of environmental impact
  • Source agency drivers in adherence to company policy, ensure agency drivers are fully inducted before engaging on to work
  • Provide support to colleagues and management as appropriate
  • Creation of management informant and reports
  • To ensure that ALL operator assets are fully in service and MOT before being released for collections/deliveries
