The Operative is required to ensure the segregation of waste from feed material in an efficient and safe manor. Ensuring waste packaging is managed and disposed of correctly.

This role involves the rotation between tasks of; stripping packaging from products on a picking line and using a forklift truck and other plant equipment to unload and load vehicles.

Additional tasks include moving pallets, cleaning and maintenance of plant equipment and transporting product using a shunt trailer into the main production facility.

Reporting line:

The Operative will report to the Production Manager and Operations Manager


Job roles include:

• Control of production and milling equipment to maximise production levels efficiently and minimise stoppages.
• Plant equipment maintenance and cleaning
• Appropriate record keeping in respect of daily maintenance and preshift checks on equipment.
• Unloading/ loading customer and thirdparty vehicles with feed materials.
• Operating critical packaging removal equipment & testing for packaging contamination
• Record any nonconforming products and associated corrective actions.
• Maintenance of required hygiene levels in the appropriate working areas.
• Cleaning of raw material storage areas as directed.
• Dealing with waste materials periodically with compactor equipment
• Hand stripping of products in readiness for further processing
• Conducting yourself in such a way as to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, that persons not in our employment who may be affected are not exposed to risks to their health & safety.
• Must not misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interest of health, safety or welfare.
• Adhere to all relevant Operating Procedures and work instructions.
• Carry out any reasonable request which may be outside the role's daily duties.

Training, qualifications, and skills:

Driving license essential

FLT license preferred.

HGV experience preferred.

Working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.


Salary:
£10.50-£11.00 per hour
