We are in the service industry where dealing with people is key to our success, whether these are customers or work colleagues.

We work with the retail and airline industry and play an active part in the planning, production storage and delivery of our Ice products from manufacturing sites to the final distribution centre, customer or store.

Job description

Operations Manager


Ultra Ice Mission:

To produce and distribute consistently high quality ice products in a safe, legal, hygienic, responsible, authentic and profitable manner.


Job purpose - General Summary and Scope


To provide the supervision of operators in the safe packaging and control of our products in a safe, efficient manner, and hygienic including the moving and safe storage of products and raw materials including raw materials such as packaging stock.

Ensuring a safe and hygienic working environment, including appropriate cleaning and organisation of the work areas and prevention of potential contaminants from internal and external areas.

Ensuring the security of site from potential contaminants including those from visitors, sub contractors and intruders. The full completion of all daily reports and forms as required by the needs of the company


Key duties and responsibilities

  • Recommending system improvements to operations Manager via the internal systems provided or directly, including the anonymous reporting system
  • Completion of all relevant daily paperwork
  • The safe supervision of all staff in their daily duties
  • The safe supervision of hygiene practices including those of hygiene and organisation within the workplace environment
  • The active involvement in the safe, hygienic production of required products as outlined by your line manager

Qualifications and key skills

  • A good understanding of English for safety and communication purposes
  • The ability to promote safety standards within a working environment
  • At least 2 years experience in a similar supervising role. Additional training will be provided.

Other Duties

Including but not exclusive to:

  • Undertake any other duty deemed reasonable by your manager
  • The cleaning and supervision of the working of environment to standards as outlined in trained procedures and schedules
  • To comply with all trained procedures, including those relating to working environment, and those included within the employee handbook
  • Reporting of any faults or hazards you believe may cause a food or physical injury to customers or any persons within the working environment
  • Hazard reporting (Near misses)
  • Checking production staff and yourselves are compliant with and wearing of the correct PPE, and adhering to the policies e.g. policy regarding wearing jewellery and mobile phones.
  • Attendance of all relevant training courses, internal and external as provided by the company.
  • The accurate completion of daily paperwork requirement, including but not exclusive to: Metal Detector record Sheet

Film Stock traceability sheet
Opening line Check Sheet
Quality Assurance sheet
Stock acceptance sheet
Daily Check sheet

  • CCP checks to be conducted at the start of any shift.
  • To complete any NCR's that are required to be actioned by you or production staff.

working with managers and production operators, and in a highly targeted fast paced environment.

The job holder is required to adequately manage themselves in an environment with the pressure of a fast paced and highly targeted work environment and to communicate any excessive pressure or other types of demands


Physical requirements
This role requires particular physical attributes due to its nature and tasks. A standard of physical health and fitness is required i.

**Salary: £26000 with possible overtime in peak months April to September. Overtime at an hourly rate of time and a half based
