We work with both domestic and commercial customers across Cornwall and Devon covering flat roofs, balconies, porches, or garages in need of repair or replacement, as well as working on new build projects.

As a trainee estimator you will play an integral role in providing an efficient service to our clients.

You will report directly to, and be under the guidance of the Director, and responsibilities will cover:

• Providing clients with estimates on labour costs and materials required to fix or build a roof.
• Setting up estimating files upon receipt of enquiries, both electronically and paper completing any further filing/addendums as they arise.
• Completing and maintaining archives.
• Significantly interfacing with all supply chain members from both suppliers and subcontractors on all aspects associated with tenders from enquiry to contract award.
• Chasing supplier, subcontractor and manufacturer quotations.
• Taking off residential and commercial projects.
• Maintaining enquiry quotation register per contract.
• Completing estimating tasks.
• Undertaking general support and administration duties for projects that you are dealing with

You may be expected to deal with other duties appropriate to your skill set and abilities.

This role requires daily travel to and from client sites, therefore the ability to travel to and from our yard in St Columb Major is essential.

Skills & Experience:

• Excellent knowledge of Excel (Essential)
• Proven ability to work using own initiative (Essential)
• An eye for detail and an ability to extract important information (Essential)
• Some experience in pricing residential or commercial projects (Desirable)
• Some experience of flat roofing works on domestic and commercial buildings (Desirable)
• Understanding or roofing and construction (Desirable)
• Roofing or general construction experience (Desirable)

Qualifications:

• Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
• GCSE grade A-C Maths and English or equivalent (Essential)
• Have obtained or are working towards a Degree or other qualification preferably within construction, maths, accounting or civil engineering (Desirable)

Schedule: 7:00am - 17:00pm, Monday to Friday
