We have an exciting development for an enthusiastic and forward thinking Principal Clinical Psychologist to lead on the delivery of a matched stepped care model of psychological therapies delivery in a friendly, newly restructured and integrated Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service.

This post provides a significant development opportunity to shape the psychological therapies service in an integrated health and social care addiction setting.

The post involves providing input into a locality-based community service for individuals with alcohol and drug problems.

You will play a key role in the provision of a high quality, evidence based clinical psychology service, working individually, and in groups, with clients who present with alcohol and drug problems and co-morbid mental health conditions.

You will also provide advice, training and consultation to other staff to support the delivery of psychosocial interventions and psychological therapies in the context of a matched stepped care model of delivery.

You will have a key role in supporting staff to deliver psychologically and trauma informed care and treatments.


The postholder will also be a member of our small but friendly NHS Greater and Glasgow Alcohol and Drugs Recovery Service (ADRS) psychology team and.

You would be part of a well-established psychological therapies service who co-ordinate the addictions teaching component of the Glasgow University Doctorate Course in Clinical Psychology.

As such, you will be expected to contribute to the development of the wider NHS GG&C ADRS psychology service and participate in research and audit, in line with service priorities.

You will be encouraged to develop a specialist clinical interest and continued professional development is strongly supported.

You will be expected to contribute to and, where appropriate, lead on developments in substance misuse services in Inverclyde HSCP as well as the NHS GG&C ADRS Psychological Therapies Service.

You must be registered with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist. This post requires PVG scheme membership.
