Description
We are seeking an experienced Housing Support Officer to support some of our 74 single people living in their own self-contained flat in Eastbourne.
This is not a floating support role as the Housing Support is offered in-house and work is from a central office with 5 other full time Housing Support Officer/Managers.
We are seeking people who have experience of supporting people facing various challenges within a safeguarding framework and with a proven ability to manage a caseload of clients with various support needs.
A successful applicant will have the ability to:
- Be both compassionate and yet able to keep professional boundaries
- Adhere to deadlines
- Diligently report all support and the rationale behind decision making
- Be innovative and creative to ensure our client group have the best possible opportunity to grow and develop skills to potentially move on into mainstream housing in the future.
- Have appropriate IT skills to record the support provided.
- Be comfortable with the receipt of client payments of service charge recording them both accurately and on time.
- Good local connections and a healthy working relationship with local external agencies, who refer clients into our service and support them when they are with us.
- Show experience of interviewing potential clients and being able to assess whether what we can offer will be viable and supporting for that potential client.
- Start each new occupancy agreement with the correct paperwork signed with copies supplied to both the client and the local authority on the start day.
- Have several years direct experience in Supported Housing.
Thinking on your feet and being able to prioritise within a busy day with various calls upon your time and attention are both crucial skills.
What we offer:
Monday to Friday (- hour shift) within core times of 8.00am - 6.00pm. No weekend working, but a rota for emergency on-call duties - screened by an external 24/7 call agency.
