Reporting to the Quayside Supervisor and working 7 days on/7 days off, the role will safely and efficiently inspect inbound/outbound cargo in line with operational procedures and deadlines, recording, reporting, and resolving non-conformances.
Key responsibilities will be to:
- Present a positive image of the Company through first class service delivery and customer engagement, building effective relationships across the business.
- Develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships, ensuring a strong line of communication at all times with Shipping Controllers, Managers and othe quayside personnel.
- Inspect all cargo delivered to the gantry in accordance with OGUK Best Practice Safe Packing and Handling of Cargo to and from offshore locations and ASCO Global Operating Procedure.
- Ensure Dangerous Goods documentation is prepared, issued and goods appropriately labelled.
- Liaise with third party personnel, including delivery drivers, to ensure the correct document and instructions are in place and that safety standards are always complied with.
- Check and verify cargo against summary ticket, ensuring compliant with client shipping matrix.
- Accurately record discrepancies, raising nonconformances and Service Improvement Documents.
- Participate in effective LiveSafe conversations prior to a job and during, as appropriate to changing conditions. Conduct and record Live Safe Interventions (LSI).
- Continuously promote a proactive HSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance, attending and contributing to monthly safety meetings.
- Regularly review procedures, work aids and risk assessments and make improvement recommendations.
- Operate forklifts and lifting equipment as trained for, and in line with Group Operating Procedures, Global Lifting Procedures and HSEQ standards.
- Conduct adhoc duties as required and in line with applicable training/competencies.
- Customer focused and the ability to build and maintain effective internal/external relationships.
- Accustomed to working effectively in a fastpaced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and in writing.
- Ability to work standalone, demonstrating initiative and ownership, while a team contributor.

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies
Previous quayside logistics/operations experience and associated procedures and legislation.
First Aid at Work and Fire Warden training.
HASAWA/LOLER/PUWER Awareness.
Dangerous Goods Awareness. Manual Handling.
Oil Spill Awareness. Security Awareness Training.
