As the Fiduciary Solutions Specialist you will be part of the Investment Solutions team.

You will work closely with the Fiduciary Advisors, Fiduciary Portfolio Managers and other members of the Investment Solutions team to deliver an outstanding Fiduciary Management (FM) proposition to our UK Institutional clients.

Columbia Threadneedle offers both full and partial Fiduciary Management services to UK institutional clients - mainly Defined Benefit pension schemes


The service includes:

  • Strategic advice, ALM and journey planning
  • Liability risk management
  • Portfolio Management
  • Implementation services


As the Fiduciary Solutions Specialist, your role is to support the effective day to day delivery of these elements and to support the growth of the FM business.


Responsibilities
How you'll spend your time....

Clients

  • Assisting senior advisors with preparation for client meetings, including client specific analysis and content.
  • Collaborating closely with the client team, clients, and their advisors to handle queries that require input from Columbia Threadneedle's FM specialists.
  • Assisting the FM Portfolio Managers with analysis to support effective portfolio management.
  • Contributing to the Model Portfolio Group, for example with asset class research, capital market assumptions analysis and broader market research.
  • Opportunities to present to clients over time.
Business development

  • Assisting in RFP production and pitch materials.
  • Representing the FM business internally and externally (e.g., at conferences and events).
Personal development

  • Maintain and develop own investment expertise and market knowledge.
  • Maintain and develop own collaboration and leadership skills.
  • Attend all compliance and risk training workshops as required.
Risk management

  • Act with integrity always. Maintain awareness of and manage risks in line with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Call out concerns that could result in poor customer outcomes and/or a negative impact upon market integrity immediately.

Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have....

  • Proven experience in a relevant role, such as institutional asset management or investment consulting.
  • Experience in UK defined benefit pensions, including investment strategy and the client and regulatory environment.
  • Experience of endgame planning and transition to buyout an advantage.
  • Knowledge of investment matters, covering Growth Assets, Fixed Income and Liability Driven Investment (LDI).
  • Numerate with strong modelling and analytical skills (Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong collaborator with an ability to work with all types and levels of people within the organisation.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Comfortable with responsibility and being accountable for results.
  • Good communication skills, both orally and written.
