An industry leader in LED lighting and control is looking for production operatives to join their busy and thriving team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
  • Evaluate production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Suggest new and/or alternative materials to maximize production.
  • Management and repair of RMA's and returns as required.
  • Collect product intelligence on reports of product faults and in house production issues and make recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Investigate production yield issues, suggest and implement countermeasures
  • Assist in maintaining test rigs
  • Developing and maintaining assembly instructions
  • Locate and repair product faults.
  • Assist in building engineering prototypes
  • Support MPI and DTI if and when requested.

Key skills/experience required:

  • Expert skills in manual soldering of electronic components down to 0402/TQFP case size.
  • Expert skills in the use of hand tools
  • Skilled in the use of electronic test equipment; DMMs, oscilloscopes, pulse generators, etc.
  • A practical, cando attitude towards solving PCB and mechanical assembly issues is essential.
  • Computer literacy is essential. The ability to create/modify macros in MS Excel would be an advantage.
  • The ability to read and understand mixed signal (analogue and digital) electronic circuit schematics is essential.
  • The ability to faultfind electronic circuits based upon their behaviour and upon the circuit schematic is necessary.
  • Qualifications in electronics such as ONC, City & Guilds, BTEC level 3 or equivalent would be a distinct advantage.
