Description
Job description

Do you have an interest in and passion for the heritage and cultural sector? Do you appreciate the valuable role museums play in bringing communities together, facilitating positive social change?

We are excited to be supporting Cornwall Museum Partnership (CMP) with the search for 3 new Trustees.

CMP is an independent charity which exists to create positive change within the museum and heritage settings.

By working in partnership with different types of organisations in Cornwall and across the UK they support museums, act as an advocate for, and celebrate the work of museums in Cornwall.

CMP have long recognised that museums are significant contributors to creative economies and communities - they enrich people's lives, play a critical role in linking past to the present whilst helping shape the future.

They are a focal point for communities, bring people together, promote wellbeing and tackle loneliness and are an important but often overlooked part of our civic infrastructure.

CMP's mission is to support museums to help them exceed their ambitions, make informed responses to local and national policy, whilst driving new practise.

By joining their existing Board, the 3 new trustees will help provide the strategic direction for the efficient delivery of the charity's objectives working with over 70+ museums, a range of community and business partners, Arts Council England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and Cornwall Council to maximise impact.

We are looking for people with:

  • Knowledge of heritage and or museum sectors
  • Fundraising (proven experience of trusts or foundation funding within the cultural and heritage sectors).
  • Marketing Communications and CreaTech to support advocacy work and / or digital innovation.

CMP support individual professional development, they are committed to a collaborative board where everyone is valued and feels comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas.

Board meets 4 times a year (3 remote, 1 in person) including an in person annual away day
Voluntary - unremunerated role but travel and carer expenses will be covered.
4 year term although shorter length of commitment can be considered if required.

We look forward to chatting to you.
