ROLE OVERVIEW

The role


This client is looking for an individual to join them on this exciting journey helping them to take forward the strategy for the Retail & Consumer (retail) and Technology & Media (tech) pillars of our business.

The role will focus on operations, both internal and external including
supporting client facing initiatives and industry body relationships.

This means getting things done in collaboration with a wide range of key stakeholders within the business and getting involved in a variety of projects and tasks.

These stakeholders will include the Head of Commercial Practice Management, the Senior Strategy Implementation Manager, Retail and Tech Leads, "Stream" leads for the strategic lenses for retail (Digital, Stores of the Future and Food & Drink) and tech (seven focus areas) and supporting "Team" leads (from pitch support to learning & development, from internal comms to external marketing, etc).

The retail & consumer market is transforming significantly as technology, economic and political pressures increase. The technology market is broad, dynamic and the future. Changes in both markets is bringing challenge and opportunity.

They have market-leading retail & consumer and technology capability across the firm and have set a bold vision and strategy for both.

This role will provide hands-on support and is key to the success of those strategies.


Reports to:

Head of Commercial Practice Management

Duties and Responsibilities:
" Project management and ownership of initiatives including planning meeting agendas, minuting actions from meetings, tracking stakeholder progress against objectives, reporting back and escalating as necessary
" Providing relevant, timely research and insight to help drive client development initiatives by collaborating with the knowledge and business development teams
" Delivery of operational and administrative actions to ensure tasks are completed to established deadlines (e.g. reporting, internal comms, ad hoc tasks)
" Drafting communications, including helping with monthly reports incorporating stream and team specific content, as well as a weekly report on the external retail & consumer market
" Helping to plan and deliver both internal and external facing events by providing input into content, drafting presentations, and helping others to deliver their part.
" Maintaining and updating key information and documentation in systems including the document management system and Intranet.


Knowledge, skills and experience:


  • Strong intuitive communication skills, both interpersonal and written
  • Strong organisation skills, with a methodical approach and meticulous attention to detail
  • Analytical approach and a keen problem solver
  • Tenacious, robust and approachable but willing to challenge established thinking
  • Quick thinking and creative, able to contribute ideas
  • Selfstarter and collaborative
  • Inquisitive with some business research experience helpful.
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ideally 12 years relevant experience in a law firm, professional services organisation.
