As a Senior People Consultant you'll work within our People Directorate.

The People Team at MLCSU is responsible for providing a wide range of people (HR/OD) services both internally and externally to our customers.


The ethos of the People Team is to ensure MLCSU is the best place to work and that our people have a positive experience whilst they are at work.

This ethos runs throughout our entire team from recruitment to operational HR and within all our programmes; each of our colleagues are responsible for ensuring their work helps to make the CSU a great place to work.


A specific focus of the role will be leading the development of the HR/OD aspects of our "Business Enabling" services, working with other stakeholders across the organisation to develop offers that support us to offer innovative 'at-scale' services to a range of clients.


You'll use your insight and experience of working with a range of HR services to develop offers, service specifications and put into place programmes which help our clients realise the potential associate with 'at-scale' services and the provision of business enabling services at a system level.


This role will help us play a pivotal role in implementing the findings of the future of human resources and organisational development programme, which launched shortly after the publication ofThe future of NHS human resources and organisational development report.

In this role you'll be part of our programmes and consultancy team within the People Directorate. As an experienced programme manager you'll work with colleagues, adopting a programme approach to delver work.

Programmes and projects will range from supporting clients with diagnostic work, helping them understand how they could benefit from adopting an 'at-scale' approach to their business services through to developing complex plans to implement the necessary change and create 'at-scale' services within an organisation or system.

You may be required to work from or attend our offices from time to time for team meetings or specific work.

Our main offices where are teams work are located in Liverpool (Merseyside), Leyland (Lancashire), Stoke-on-Trent and West Bromwich.

  • Lead the development of 'offers' from the organisation to its clients, developing services that enable and deliver national policy/strategy, the organisation's Business Plan and People practices.
  • Lead programmes of work on service offers, transformation and strategy development from development through to implementation where necessary.
  • Produce reports, presentations, and pitches for a range of purposes including governance, performance, regulation and marketing.
  • Lead the development of programmes of work that support systems and organisations to meet the People Plan Promises.
