THE COMPANY:


Brewster Partners are working with a large and successful Nottinghamshire based manufacturing business as they look to recruit a Production Manager.


The role would suit a successful and experienced Production Manager from a smaller manufacturing business who has strong experience of working with ERP systems and is looking for a step up.


THE JOB:


The Production Manager will take control of production scheduling through the ERP system and managing inventory levels across the production process.

Reporting to the Managing Director and managing a small team of 4, the role will involve:

  • Utilises the ERP system to produce a full company production schedule, detailing all tasks and their required deadlines in order to meet customer demand
  • Plans and prioritises operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delays, monitoring progress against the schedule using the ERP system
  • Determines workforce, equipment and raw material needs to cover production demand for the short, medium and long term
  • Manages inventory levels, both raw materials and finished goods, via the ERP system to ensure inventory is managed at optimal levels, increasing stock turns and ensuring all products have full ERP traceability
  • Identifies opportunities for improving production through the strategic implementation of CAPEX improvement projects
  • Supports Product Group Managers in holding daily shop floor meetings to ensure the production plan is communicated effectively to all production employees
  • Liaises with the sales department to determine customer requirements, ensuring realistic delivery schedules are communicated to customers and sales staff are informed promptly of changes to production schedule in order to manage customer expectations
  • Troubleshoots problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions
  • Supports the HSEQ Manager to address issues regarding quality when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
  • Collects and assesses data about the production team's performance via the ERP system in order to produce and monitor meaningful KPIs focusing on On Time Delivery, and escalate any concerns in a timely manner
  • Prepares and submits production status and performance reports for upper management, including suggestions on ways to improve efficiency
  • Drives a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the production department, encouraging direct reports to look for improvements in productivity and efficiency on a daily basis
  • Comply with Health & Safety standards and workplace legislation

THE PERSON:


The business is looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in Production planning, utilising an ERP system
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Experience in MRP (Manufacturing resource planning)
  • Previous Management experience within a manufacturing / production environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
  • Knowledge and experience of Manufacturing processes and continuous improvement experience
  • Experience of delivering KPI's
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
