THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Shift Manager who has experience working within a fast paced FMCG environment for our client based in Gateshead.

The organisation in question is expanding its operations and runs multiple lines to serve manyinstantly recognisable house hold brands.

The purpose of the Shift Manager role is to plan, coordinate and control all manufacturing processes so that products are delivered on time in full and within budget on a shift.

Continually evaluating best cost-effective practices and methods of working toensure improvements in productivity, whilst ensuring all health, safety, and wellbeing procedures are being complied with.


THE ROLE
Maintain and deliver KPI's connected with OEE, Changeovers, Performance, Quality, Waste and Head Count
Improving efficiencies across the team including behaviours and developing staff
As Nightshift Shift Manager you will be the most Senior person on site

To liaise with the Production Director to plan future capacity requirements and constraints, build a planning and scheduling process to maintain OTIF, while managing labour costs through planning work rota's, assigning employees according to production needs,analysing results for continuous improvement.

Helping to deliver the budget, in terms of costs and production numbers. Supporting the delivery of Capital Expenditure plans, maintenance and engineering initiatives and R&D activity.
To provide direction and guidance to product and pack leads to ensure an effective production operation that can fulfil operational and customer demand
Drive accountability in all production processes, running daily operational meetings and putting improvements in place where necessary
To review performance, identify training needs and manage performance / capability with direct reports.

Set and maintain GMP and hygiene standards within production area, working with Hygiene Manager to ensure standards are worked to.

Support and deliver effective management of all people processes, working with Pack and Product Leads to coach and support their development & effectiveness
Delivers full compliance and consistency against set KPI's.
Ensure full compliance to Quality Management Systems and procedures working with members of the Technical Department.
To manage health, safety, and wellbeing to the highest standards, reducing or eliminating hazards, ensuring best practice and safe systems of work are operated, high standards of housekeeping are maintained, etc
To support and deliver relevant Continuous Improvement projects, using industry recognised methodology and techniques
Drive production efficiencies through effective SIC and escalation
Accountabilities
Deliver plan on target to expected cost/weight.
Full compliance with all standards/specifications/control procedures.
Full compliance with all external regulatory requirements.
Ensure effective control of plant and escalation
Eliminate all unnecessary waste of product
Deliver right first-time process.
Deputise for the Head of Operations when required

Lean management experience

Leading food safety

THE PACKAGE
This permanent nightshift role pays £32.5K per annum, including shift allowance
