Reed are currently seeking a Field Based Freight Experienced Business Development Manager for one of our most prestigious Freight Forwarding Agents in St Helens


Responsibilities:


  • Develop prospects into new business and close contracts
  • Cold calling, prospecting & lead generation
  • Handle enquiries and tenders in a timely fashion
  • Identify and target potential major clients, namely the decision makers within the client organization
  • Develop an understanding of Customer Needs and Challenges what is driving the customer decisions
  • Appreciation of costs of operations to allow winning proposals to be created
  • Monthly forecasting to the board of directors
  • Manage a small of team of part time sales managers

Experience & Knowledge:


  • Proven sales track record of gaining new major business and successfully working to and exceeding Sales Targets
  • Solid background in multimodal freight forwarding; previous experience in operations would be advantageous
  • Identifying new major business opportunities and the ability to close successfully
  • Aptitude for building trust and highquality relationships with customers
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage time efficiently is essential
  • Proven excellence in presentation skills bring gravitas and credibility to varying audiences
  • Familiar with CRM systems and Microsoft programmes
