MASTER PRODUCTION SCHEDULER
EMBS Engineering is working in close partnership with an exciting, well-established, cash-rich business that is in the market to secure a new Master Production Scheduler to join their business on a permanent basis.
Our client is renowned for their high-end manufacturing capabilities, supporting some of the markets leading customers within Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Defence and Aerospace development.
With strong order books across multiple clients who they have long-standing relationships with, this opportunity presents the chance to work on/with complex, challenging and interesting components for a high-profile precision engineering company located in Derbyshire.
- Establish planning time horizons with order entry and provide analysis and commitments on orders inside planning time frames
- Defining and implementing balanced production plans and levelled schedules
- Conduct sales order acknowledgment from customer requested date to promise analysis and establish scheduled despatch dates on all customer orders
- Coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality and other departments to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting production schedules
- Further develop ERP system to ensure that all work in progress can be tracked and managed through the process
- Liaise with all relevant departments regarding planning schedule if necessary
- Develop continuous process improvement in the scheduling and planning process
- Calculate / estimate lead time for tenders
- Plan production based on actual and forecasted demand against available capacity
- Provide weekly production plans to the Operational teams
- Create and maintain high level capacity plans for long term forecasting
- Collaborate effectively with peers and production leaders to ensure the effective execution of the production plan
- Work to continuously improve the planning process
- Develop and run regular reports to demonstrate adherence to plan
- Utilise the production plan to report effectively to Project leads to provide accurate delivery dates
- Ensure effective communication across all departments throughout the site
- Attend production meetings to communicate relevant information as required
A large element of this role will require someone to be proactive, methodical, organised and willing to chase / communicate with internal departments and external customers, ensuring the parts are where they need to be within the planning process.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong engineering background
- Previous experience of manufacturing processes within an engineering environment ideally machined or fabricated parts within precision engineering industries
- Held roles as a Master Production Scheduler, Lead Planner, Production Planner, Senior Production Controller or similar position
- Good understanding of end to end order fulfilment process and key interdependencies
- Strong technical knowledge
- Practical experience of MRP / ERP systems
- Demonstrable experience in process development and implementation
- Strong organisational skills in terms of work planning and time management
- Project management or customer account management experience
- Able to work to and achieve time sensitive constraints
- Proven ability to analyse schedules for impending difficulties and clearly communicate to the Production Manager
- A logical thinker that demonstrates positive attitude and determination to getting the work done
- A proven team player with good communication skills, experience of dealing with customers
- Adaptable to the changing demands of manufacturing
- Stability & Longevity within stable industry sectors

- Competitive salary: £4 50k depending on experience
- Hours: 39 per week with early finish on Fridays
