Finance and Business Support Officer


Family Friends is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child up to the age of 14.

Volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to families under stress in their own homes helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown.


For a Finance & Business support Officer working to a senior worker with main focus on Financial Systems with contributions to the operation of the scheme.

Accurate finance systems and administrative tasks.

Salary

G06 £25,40- GO7 £27,344 (Pro-Rata)

Purposes of Job

To contribute to the effective day to day operation of the scheme in accordance with the Family Friends Governing documents, Standards and Methods of

Practice, Family Friends Agreement and Quality Assurance Standards.

Main Responsibilities

Finances

  • Implementing the scheme's administration and financial systems
  • To provide Financial support to Family Friends office employees & board of trustees as appropriate & when required.
  • Managing the petty cash systems and payments of volunteers expenses
  • Ensuring spreadsheets, payments and records are kept up to date monthly
  • Managing salaries and invoice payments
  • Managing the scheme's Income and Expenditure account systems
  • Sorting and Banking of monies to Family Friends HSBC account
Business support

Databases.

  • To provide a high level of flexible technical, administrative, financial and customer support to ensure the effective delivery of the Family Friends service.
  • To work as part of a team using a high level of specialist skills and knowledge to deliver an effective and efficient service while working to frequently tight deadlines.
  • To contribute, develop and support staff when required with IT skills.i.e.
Databases, word, power point, Website, Facebook and the internet and a flair for learning new software packages

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills needed with an ability to prioritise work
  • To organise and deliver events and days out when required.
The Finance/Business Officer is expected to work within the ethos of Family

Friends and have high standards of practice. The need to respect confidentiality is paramount, as is a mature and flexible approach to the work.
