Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a Teacher of Religious Education on a full-time basis from January 2023.
Teacher of Religious Education
Exciting opportunity to join a welcoming all through school based in Middleton, Greater Manchester. This welcoming Oldham based school wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Education on a full-time basis.
Key role highlights:
- Teacher of Religious Education.
- Opportunity to progress onto a permanent contract and leadership opportunities available.
- Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within the UK or equivalent.
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS (£28,000 £43,685)
Key accountabilities of this Teacher of Religious Education role will include but may vary:
- Be an exemplary role model for staff and students alike, upholding the school ethos and values.
- Plan, assess and review effectively all lessons and activities, in line with the Scheme of Work and student progress.
- Promote an inclusive learning practice, utilising a range of strategies to support pupil progress, recognise strengths and overcome challenges.
- Must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service and provide two recent references.
The Middleton based academy are an 11-16 secondary school, with capacity for around 1000 students, The academy are currently operating slightly under capacity since opening in 2020.
Around 1 in 3 students are eligible for free school meals and the academyplace great emphasis on an inclusive and supportive working environment for both students and staff.
This rapidly improving academy are part of a multi-academy Trust and have received particular praise for the level of support offered to students with EHCP's and was one of the first 50 schools selected by the Department for Education in July as the £1bnfirst phase of its School Rebuilding Programme.
The initiative aims to upgrade around 500 school and sixth form colleges across England over the next decade to improve educational outcomes.
A statement on the Academy's website said: "The 'older' part of the school, which includes virtually all of the parts that were constructed prior to the last refurbishment in 2010 is to be replaced by a new building block, which will house science, technologyand construction, performing arts, SEN, PE (including a new sports hall and fitness suite), as well as a new hall, dining room, and kitchen"This is an exciting project for the school which will update a significant proportion of the facilities currently in use."
