Production Floor Leader
Job Purpose/Role:


The Production Floor Leader must execute the production plan made by the Planning Department and supervise the Production Operatives throughout the shift.

The Production Floor Leader must be able to oversee multiple activities simultaneously and take ownership of the output of Production Operatives on his or her team.

The Production Floor Leader is also responsible for exhibiting a strong working knowledge of all machinery, equipment, and processes. The Production Floor Leader must be able to manage and troubleshoot all tools used in production (e.g. weighing systems, production trackers, scanners, etc.).

The Production Floor Leader is also expected to work closely with other functions within the facility to execute departmental/business wide initiatives.


Production Floor Leader Job Duties:


  • Complies with all company Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Receives production targets/KPI's from the Operations Manager and manages the delegation of production tasks to Production Operatives, and ensures proper staffing for all tasks
  • Works with the warehouse team to ensure all product required for production tasks has been dropped to the production floor in the quantities required for the production plan
  • Sets up for each activity according to standard operating procedures
  • Coaches production operatives for lead on set up processes and procedures to ensure that SOPs for table and line set up are followed
  • Ensures workstations are setup for each production activity in a manner that correlates with business standards and production targets
  • Shares recommendations for improvements to safety, equipment, and/ or SOPs with Operations Manager
  • Demonstrates leadership during adoption of new processes continually works to identify opportunities to gain efficiency and improve quality in production
  • Be proactive in ensuring the integrity of the food safety and food quality system are maintained
  • Responsible for reporting and taking necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by Operations Manager

Leadership, Production Experience, Good Written and Oral Communication Skills, Problem Solving Abilities, Delegation, Negotiation, Ability to Work and Make Decisions Under Pressure, Compassion, Time Management Skills, Computer Literacy, People Person, Ability to Work as Part of a Team.
