We are looking for a Head of Events in London and remotely to lead our Events Team in the successful delivery of CISI's annual programme of in-person, on-line and hybrid events.


Reporting to the Head of Membership & Professional Standards, you will be responsible for the successful implementation of the annual events plan, working closely with a range of internal stakeholders and member committees.


As the leading professional body for securities, investment, wealth and financial planning, our events programme is designed to provide the knowledge and skills for the professional development of our members.


Location:
City of London, and remote


Salary:
c.£42,000 to £45,000pa, depending on your skills


Head of Events Responsibilities:


  • Manage and support the Events Team, currently a team of 5, including performance reviews and day to day supervision.
  • Successful implementation of the annual events programme.
  • Oversee all aspects of the successful management and execution of all events.
  • Lead the event management on some key annual events.
  • Manage the annual events budget.
  • Support in the training and development of team members.
  • Ensure adherence to processes and plans.
  • Effective communication with all stakeholder groups.
  • Support with the recruitment of speakers (usually suggested by the Committees), bookings and managing events venues.
  • With the Marketing Department, oversee the promotion of events, online and offline, ensuring they are well attended and successful.
  • Ensure effective recordkeeping and event administration.
  • Provide reports and analysis to track performance against the plan.
  • Motivate and provide general administrative support to the events team as and when required.
  • Travel to events and overnight stay may be required.

Head of Events Requirements:

The following skills and experience are required, which you may have gained through voluntary activities or paid employment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to organise and plan multiple events at the same time.
  • Attention to detail.
  • A flexible attitude and able to work to deadlines.


  • IT skills

  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • 5+ years' experience in event planning / management
  • Experience as a team / department leader in events
  • Experience of setting and delivering an events agenda
  • Degree qualified or equivalent, ideally in Events Management (preferable, not essential)
