Digital Engagement and Content Lead


I am working with a Public Sector Organisation based in Watford who are looking for a Digital Engagement & Content Lead for 9-12 Months.

The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying up to £34.11 Umbrella per hour. The role is a fixed term contract role.

Job Purpose
Manage the Digital Engagement & Content (DE&C) team to ensure all Action for Children (AFC) Platforms and Content within the team's remit (website, social media, digital marketing & analytics) drives supporter engagement, lead generation and excellent ongoing supporter journeys

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a range of specialist digital engagement teams i.e. digital content, platform, marketing & analytics, to deliver a supporter & user centric transformational agenda to achieve AFC strategic aims.
  • Influence and support the development of AFC's digital maturity, and manage or oversee the delivery of key workstreams e.g. content & analytics
  • Lead and provide strategic direction for your team ensuring the provision of appropriate training and development to improve digital strategy and planning, and to enhance and improve digital communication and activity.
  • Play a key role within AFC's crossfunctional teams to effectively build awareness, engage and influence supporters, generate leads, and drive income.
  • Manage resource planning and coordinating of workplans within your team and manage a roster of approved agencies to scale up support as required.
  • Be responsible for our web and social channel strategy, including the development, management and optimisation of new and existing digital communications channels, content and activities.
  • Develop and implement online supporter journeys in tandem with the Mass Fundraising and Supporter Experience teams, to build frictionfree, engaging experiences which inspire action and support.
  • Help influence across the organisation, a shared understanding and collaborative approach to digital communication to support objectives and achieving better outcomes for children.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A Marketing, Digital Marketing or Analytics degree or professional equivalent
  • Digital communications & marketing experience (to include driving brand awareness and lead generation drive revenues
  • Experience of line management and leadership for a team of digital experts.
  • Significant experience with proven success of creating and delivering effective digital communications campaigns (including content first digital campaigns) across a number of products and propositions
  • Planning and delivering digital campaigns, achieving desired targets and reporting on impact
  • Experience of managing relationships with digital suppliers.
  • Experience of project management, including delivering to timescales and budgets.
  • Proven ability to write, edit, clear, concise and create highly engaging content and copy for different audiences across online communications
  • Ability to undertake accurate analysis of relevant analytics or research and produce jargon free summaries.
  • Maintaining and protecting an organisation's brand in a variety of formats.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, to prioritise work and meet deadlines with welldeveloped time management skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with other stakeholders in a collaborative way and using a partnerships approach.
  • An understanding of other channels and the wider marketing mixes impact on digital fundraising
