- Lead and coordinate regional sporting pathway activity across all cycling disciplines.
- Support and grow the number of affiliated clubs, with a strong focus on increasing opportunities for women, girls, and young people.
- Develop and sustain a vibrant calendar of registered cycle sport events.
- Provide tools, guidance, and support to new and existing event organisers and clubs.
- Use data and insight to enhance racing opportunities and event capacity.
- Recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to volunteers to strengthen the regional delivery network.
- Facilitate local forums, workshops, and networking events to share best practices.
- Promote volunteer recognition and progression opportunities.
- Support and grow pathway activity, to improve rider development.
- A strong background in sports development, ideally within a National Governing Body (NGB) or volunteer-led environment.
- Experience in club and event development, with a track record of growing participation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel across the region.
- Knowledge of regional cycle sport structures and governance.
- Experience supporting volunteers and coordinating regional sport delivery.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- A passion for cycling and a commitment to British Cycling's values and behaviours.

Remote (covering the East Midlands which includes: Nottingham, Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire
Working Pattern
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (occasional evenings and weekends required + travel to National Cycling Centre for Team Meetings & other National locations)

About The Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Sport Developer to join our dynamic team and lead the delivery of our sporting pathway across the west midlands Region. This role is pivotal in sustaining, developing, and growing the sport of cycling by supporting clubs, events, and volunteers. You will be a key ambassador for British Cycling, working collaboratively with stakeholders to embed best practices and drive participation.
