Description

Growers Garden, based in Cupar, are going through an exciting period of growth. We specialise in making extruded fresh vegetable snacks as well as making our own delicious range of broccoli crisps. We are now looking for an additional extrusion operator to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing the extrusion process on a shift basis.

You must have experience of operating an extruder (ideally in fresh produce but any sector is considered) and being able to consistently produce a product within specification.

You should also be comfortable controlling equipment parameters from the point of handover through to shut down.

The right person will also be able to:

Prepare, store, monitor and analyse product keeping samples. Liaising with external bodies as required
Conduct pre

- and post-production stock checks and report

Conduct pre

- and post-production maintenance/equipment start up checks

Transfer ingredients and materials ensuring adherence to Company Health and Safety, Food Safety, and food manufacturing requirements.
Supervise, mentor, support and train colleagues to achieve team and business targets
Monitor food quality performance and manage factory operating parameters to achieve agreed product specifications
Develop a comprehensive understanding of product recipes and specifications
Complete specific relevant training as per job role requirements
Carry out factory cleaning as per Company schedule. Cleaning levels will vary from 'tidy as you go' through to an indepth deep clean
Assist and liaise with the Management Team to ensure business targets are achieved, reporting any issues, recommending improvements and monitoring KPI's
Offer support and guidance to Process Workers and QA Operatives
Assist the Engineering Team during significant equipment maintenance
Conduct shelf life analysis to ensure finished product is performing to agreed customer specification
Ensure accurate recording and collation of production and quality documentation/paperwork
All other duties as required

Shift pattern:
weekly rotation of days and nights, 12 hour shifts on a 3-3-4 basis, averaging 40 hours per week.

£28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
