The Post:

An exciting opportunity has arisen in SNBTS Patient Services.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and professional nurse to undertake the role of Deputy Head of Nursing.

The Deputy Head of Nursing is responsible to the Patient Services Associate Director for providing dynamic professional and strategic leadership and for ensuring the planning and delivery of high quality, cost effective, innovative therapeutic and specialist clinical services.

This is a senior operational position for the following teams, Clinical Apheresis, Transfusion Team and Tissues & Cells

You will have an extensive skill set in nursing management and leadership and be an effective communicator.

You will promote strong, effective visible leadership and will be a positive role model, delivering the values of National Services Scotland.

You will be a member of the SNBTS Senior Nurses Group, professional leadership will be under the direction of the Head of Nursing, who you will deputise for professionally.

You will exercise a high degree of professional autonomy, making critical judgements in a highly complex environment


Location and Working Pattern:

The position is based in Edinburgh but is flexible, travel nationally is required at times. A hybrid working model is followed.

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week


It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
