Description
This position helps support and maintain all central technical admin and technical KPI activity within Boparan Manufacturing Group.

Specifically, this position is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of central support functions for the reporting of technical KPIs, the collation of site technical information to form the Weekly Technical SMT pack and maintaining a central technical calendar of customer visits and audits.


The position is responsible for maintaining the KPI reporting system, contributing to the QMS and providing admin support for technical meetings.


This position will work closely with all direct reports of the Technical Director, and the Heads of Technical and technical teams for BMG.


This position will be an integral part of the BMG Technical Team and contribution to the team is part of the role.


The role is hybrid working from home / Derby based with occasional need to travel to other sites as needed.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Compilation of relevant technical KPI data (CPMU, Micro, Quality Rejects, etc.,) to ensure central technical team have all relevant information for productive and efficient technical governance of the BMG.
  • Compiling weekly & monthly technical KPI compliance reports and following up with site Heads of Technical and Technical Managers.
  • Contribute to improving business processes across the technical function by developing and maintaining robust and consistent standards and operating procedures, utilising KPIs to monitor, maintain and deliver standards that satisfy all legal and customer requirements.
  • Interpretation of Analytical results and communication of data through charts and visuals.
  • Point of contact for site technical KPI stats queries.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of all central technical Processes & Tools for maintaining audit ready technical QMS documentation. Ensure the effective provision of documentation to meet legal /customer requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through the QMS. Develop and share best technical practice.
  • Work with the site technical teams in ensuring effective communication of central technical processes & tools.
  • Liaise with site technical teams and stakeholders to maintain a central technical calendar of customer visits and audits.
  • Manage technical meeting planning, agenda and minutes.
  • Contribute to developing and implementing effective programs to ensure operational and technical integrity at all times.
  • Contribute to the creation of the annual technical budget. Minimise the cost impact to BMG in regard to the cost to serve the customer and add best value.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate to ensure standards of excellence are continually driven.
  • Any other projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:


  • Education: Food Safety Qualification preferred.
  • Experience: IT literate with industry experience in food manufacturing / technical administration. Experience of technical system management is a must. Good working knowledge of systems and procedures, and experience managing and maintaining a Document Control System.
  • A technical professional with clear understanding of broad range of technical disciplines
  • KPIs, Customer Visits / Audits, SOP Creation / Management.
  • Flexibility to operate on broad technical level as well as detailed technical KPI level.
  • Must demonstrate a passion for working with diverse teams and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation. Strong interpersonal skills, energy and commitment essential. Quick to build positive relationships and to engage others.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal, written and numerical skills, with the confidence to express opinions clearly and the ability to translate technical matters and communicate to nontechnical colleagues is essential.
  • Must be able to demonstrate flexibility and ability to manage multiple and complex tasks in a fast paced environment with sometimes conflicting needs & wants, plus the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Able to prioritise and manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Use of problemsolving techniques to drive performance.
  • The role requires an organized, pragmatic, proactive selfstarter, selfmotivated, highly resilient individual with good attention to detail.
