Are you a people person with excellent communication skills? If so, and you have a background in the water industry, we have an excellent opportunity for you to work with the most important part of our business - our customersThis role will see you travelling around Dorset, Wiltshire & Somerset areas. Therefore, you will need to hold a valid driving licence - a vehicle will be provided for your travel.
What you'll do:
As a Customer Inspector, you will be responsible for reacting to incidents raised by our customer services unit, the wholesale service desk, retailers and our billing department.
Your day will be scheduled via an electronic diary based on an emergency, target date and appointment basis to meet both business and customer expectations.
Day to day, you will follow this schedule, which will see you attending customer homes to carry out the initial customer inspector survey which may include meter installation, customers experiencing issues with their private supply pipe and job requests for the assets on our network.
The role will see you interacting daily with customers, including non-household suppliers, therefore you must ensure the highest standard of customer service is delivered at all times.
You will also ensure all work is carried out in line with policy, procedure and best practice to maintain the safety of yourself and our customers.
Should customers have an issue with their water supply or a leak, you will see to that customer to ensure the issue is resolved as promptly as possible.
Due to the nature of this role, you will find yourself working alone for a large portion of your day, therefore it is essential that you follow lone worker processes to ensure safe working at all times.
What you'll need:
To be successful you will have a 'can do' attitude, while also being confident, assertive and self-motivated in dealing with all types of queries in a calm, timely and efficient manner.
With relevant experience in water industry activities, together with NRSWA street works certification, you will have a sound understanding of our new connections process, water regulations, the customer leak policy, non-household processes and the wastewater notice process.
