A unique, senior opportunity is available at Central Film School (CFS) for a Head of Operations / Centre Manager with extensive experience in Higher Education (HE) - based in its new campus in south west London.
The Head of Operations is a key role for Central Film School, as it not only oversees operations for the school, the role also manages 5 key team members and functions - as well as having Board and Committee responsibilities.
The position is a varied mix of HR / Facilities and Finance leadership with management responsibility for student services, finance and facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage HR functions such as onboarding, maintaining the HR system and people policies
- Support other managers with the development and deployment of teambuilding activities and continuing professional development across the organisation
- Overall management of the London campus and its facilities
- As well as managing facilities staff, you will manage relationships with Property Management firm and building maintenance freelancers
- Assure facilities policies and regulatory responsibilities (first aid/fire safety/relevant risk assessments etc) are met and kept up to date
- Provide logístical support to the Resources Team where needed
- Support the creation of the annual budget with the CEO
- Manage the Finance Assistant/Manager and support them to monitor PO procedure, manage facilities, operations and other procurement processes
- Report on spending against budget across facilities, resources and operations
- Create a supportive and studentcentric environment in the school
- Develop and deploy Student Services and Student Experience policies and procedures, including safeguarding, across the wider team
- Manage Student Counsellor and Student Support staff
- Manage the (nonacademic postenrolment) student complaints procedure
- Provide training for teams in Safeguarding, Prevent Awareness and related areas
Key Requirements
- 5 years+ management experience
in an education context - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Genuine interest in education and positive social impact
- Experience managing budgets and building teams
- Proven ability to implement change across teams, structures and policy Flexible, outcomesdriven innovator
- Experience in student safeguarding
- Commitment to providing an excellent student experience
- Ability to think strategically and understand commercial priorities
ABOUT CENTRAL FILM SCHOOL
CFS was established in 2008 as a short-course provider with the aim of giving students from all over the world the skills and competencies needed to succeed in the screen industries.
The School has been on the Office for Students Register of English Higher Education Providers since 2019 and successfully moved to the Approved (Fee Cap) category in 2020, meaning degree programmes are now fully funded by SLC loans.
CFS undertakes local and national outreach campaigns and activities to ensure that students from all parts of society can access the training, network and community of practice offered by studying at film school.
Utilising flexible provision and inclusive pedagogy, CFS is committed to amplifying the voices of future filmmakers from underrepresented groups.Salary:
£45,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
