Strathmore Lodge is seeking a Senior Support Worker in St Albans. We are a private residential care home for the elderly with a maximum capacity of 19 residents. Our staff make our home welcoming and friendly, and we have an extremely low staff turnover, creating a supportive environment for both residents and staff. We encourage staff growth and career progression. We provide exceptional, homely, and relaxed residential and dementia care in St Albans. Qualifications
- Minimum 3 Years of Experience in a Care Home environment.
- Ideally a minimum of NVQ 2 working towards NVQ Level 3 or above (Although this can be arranged).
- Ability to support, motivate and lead staff and to be a team player.
- Be practical and help to provide solutions to and problems or issues and to help create improved ways of working.
- Communicate and interact effectively with both residents and staff.
- You must like dogs, terrible singing, having fun with our residents and most of all a desire and passion to help support and improve people lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager in running the home efficiently and caringly in their absence.
- Ensure a handover is carried out, accounting for all residents at the start and end of each shift.
- Help with daily medication administration.
- Ensure staff contribute to a homely, friendly, and supportive atmosphere, leading by example.
- Support the training and development of all staff.
- Support residents with personal care, promoting independence, dignity, and respect.
