The role of the Principal:


The role is to represent the vision and leadership for the academy enabling children and staff to achieve effective learning through ensuring outstanding education provision; and to inspire and influence others within and beyond the academy.


As an Academy, we are committed to becoming a 'truly great school' in every aspect and we believe that quality teaching first will ensure students make excellent progress.

We pride ourselves on the atmosphere and ethos around the Academy.

Our expectations of our students and also ourselves are high, and as a result we are looking for a particular individual who can meet these expectations.


The Principal will:

  • Be an inspirational and visionary leader
  • Evaluate academy performance and identify priorities for improvement
  • Impact on the quality of teaching and students' achievements
  • Promote excellence, equality, and high expectations
  • Effectively work with the Academy Governing Body, CEO and Executive Leadership Team
  • Secure the commitment of the wider community
  • Influence and shape the teaching profession
  • Principals are required to carry out their professional duties in accordance with the current Academy Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document and Teachers' Standards at all times.
