Senior Healthcare Assistant Training provided
£ 11.45 per hour - 2 week rolling rota - 3 x 12 hours shifts 8am to 8pm and 4 x 12 hour shifts varying between 8am to 8pm


39.75 hrs per week contracts

What the role involves


Working under the guidance of a senior carer or registered nurse you will be responsible for the physical ,emotional and social wellbeing of our residents.


You will offer care and support for the personal needs of our residents such as washing ,personal hygiene, dressing and helping with meals.

This also involves keeping accurate daily records and observing care plan needs for each individual.

Job Purpose

  • To assist in the nursing and housekeeping duties of the home under the direction of the Duty RGN.
  • To behave courteously toward all patients, visitors and colleagues in the home.
  • To behave responsibly towards the economy and care of equipment and property in the home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist RN with group allocations.
  • Check daily diary for activities and appointments.
  • Ensure daily care logs are within time period of 2 hours checking fluids, food etc.
  • Inform the appropriate staff member of any resident change of condition or concern.
  • Paperwork to be kept up to date. It is extremely important that written information is readable and understandable.
  • To contribute and participate in staff meetings and staff training.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which mean covering sickness and holidays.
  • To adhere to Applegarth's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure infection control procedures are followed.
  • To ensure that the tidiness of the home is maintained to the highest level.
  • To ensure uniform policy is correct e.g.

hair tied back, no nail varnish etc:

Key Duties


Manage and support HCA.To serve meals and beverages, encourage and assist in the feeding of residents requiring additional attention at meal times.


Manage and support HCA to support residents with reduced continence control, toileting, cleaning and changing continence pads and removing wet or soiled clothing to ensure the residents remain comfortable and the risk of ski deterioration is reduced.

To ensure correct moving and handling procedures are carried out correctly at all times.


Manage and support HCA to ensure bedroom areas are kept clean, tidy pleasant and comfortable by changing bed linen and removing all cups and plates.
