£24,122 p.a., rising to £24,533 p.a. from August 2023

Permanent, full-time position averaging 37.5 hours per week.


The catering department at Newnham College is seeking to recruit an experienced and pro-active Food Service Supervisor for the Iris Café.

Working closely with the Café Manager you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of this food and beverage facility within the College, catering to students, staff, senior members, visitors and the general public This represents an excellent opportunity to join a team of professionals and broaden your managerial experience.


You will need to be a self-starter with an excellent sense of customer service, and be a problem solver, able to deal with issues promptly and successfully.

Some experience of managing staff is required and flexibility as working alternate weekends is a requirement of the job as is some occasional weekend working.

Also, there may be the need to work in other areas of the College's catering provision (garden parties, functions, buttery) as well, from time to time.


The annual salary is paid at point 26 on the University single salary spine which currently equates to £24,122 p.a., rising to £24,533 from August 2023. Working full time hours which average 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis, including working alternate weekends and occasional evening work.
