Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Support Assistant to join a reputable school in Newport.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural needs, helping them to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide onetoone support to students with behavioral needs, implementing strategies outlined by the school's SENCO or behaviour team.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as required.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students, offering guidance and encouragement to help them succeed academically and socially.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior incidents, ensuring all relevant information is documented and communicated effectively.
  • Attend regular meetings and training sessions to further develop skills and knowledge related to behavior support and safeguarding.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioral needs, is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to work closely with colleagues to support the needs of students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond effectively to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

From £950.00 per week
