Freight Forwarder - Project Logistics professional


We are looking for a Freight Forwarding professional with good experience in Project Forwarding and good knowledge of West Africa.

You will be primarily based in Central London, work closely with other European offices and travel frequently to Nigeria and other West African countries, where our Group has on-going projects.


Responsibilities

  • Organizing the shipment of goods, across all modes of transport both inward and outward, locally, and internationally.
  • Negotiating prices and terms with carriers and other service providers and booking cargo space.
  • Providing quotations to clients and group offices.
  • Handling clients and shipments from A to Z (from booking to financial settlements).
  • Planning and execution of projects including tender completion.
  • Managing and building longterm relationships with carriers, road hauliers and warehousing service providers.
  • Managing customs clearance procedures, transport documents, and insurance paperwork.
  • Tracking and communicating shipment status with clients in realtime.
  • Checking that shipments are delivered on time.
  • Resolving issues including discrepancies; delayed arrivals and customs release.
  • Managing the administrative side of work such as filing and invoicing.

Requirements:


  • Minimum 5years' experience in Project Freight Forwarding.
  • Able to handle all logístical matters in all aspects of Project Forwarding.
  • Ability to travel overseas
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
  • Good Knowledge on Break Bulk shipments, Port operations, Transportation of Heavy and out of Gauge equipment.
  • Ability to quickly gain an understanding of systems and processes
  • Exceptional written and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience of completing tenders in a timely manner
