We are currently looking for a mechanical engineer to join our manufacturing client based in Bradford BD- lovely working environment - with a great company.


Working hours
Monday-Friday
06.00am-14.00pm & 14.00pm-22.00pm

Purpose of the role.
Assess new and upcoming jobs to find improvement opportunities.

Assist the commercial team during the costing process by carrying out trials and creating samples.

Develop current machinery on-site through improvements, innovation and hardware upgrades.


Assist the production team in making training documents for new machinery and processes so team leaders and production staff have a reasonable understanding.

Carry out risk assessments on all new equipment and processes.

Implement Lean process, Kaizen, carry out preventative maintenance and ensure all production machinery operates at optimum performance.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Produce sample products as requested by the commercial department and feed information back such as outputs, material sizes and specifications, tooling needed and costs.
  • Inspect any new machinery purchased needs to ensure it meets expectations and is of good build Quality to ensure reliability. Upon acceptance work with the production team to develop a training plan to allow the appropriate staff to be trained on how tooperate the machinery efficiently and safely.
  • Set up machinery for production to run at optimum performance.
  • Service machinery in accordance with iAuditor and actively update the iAuditor system with any new requirements (preventative).
  • Diagnose and rectify machine faults (reactive).
  • Ensure all safety features are active and in working order.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by directors of the business or your manager.
  • Maintain standards of the following in line with company procedures.
