Ormiston Park Academy is seeking to appoint an excellent practitioner and experienced SEND Coordinator.

The AP will be a trained SENCo and would lead the strategic direction and development of the provision for students with SEND at the academy.

You will have experience of supporting students with SEND and of the implementation of the SEND Code of Practice.

You will bring energy and enthusiasm, as well as a strong moral purpose and the determination that all students with SEND can progress and achieve in-line with their peers.

The AP (SENCO) will be expected to deliver one to one and group interventions.

Commensurate with the strategic importance of this role, the post holder will have a place on our extended senior leadership team.

The AP (SENCO) at the academy will benefit from on-going support and guidance from Ormiston Academy Trust's National Director of SEND.


To be considered for this opportunity, you will:

  • Have a proven track record of impact in the provision of SEND.
  • Have completed the National Award for SEND coordination or are in the process of completing the qualification.
  • Be able to demonstrate an indepth understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEND and a range of effective strategies and interventions used to support them.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
