Working within a world leading, technical engineering organisation, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Systems Security Lead, who will use their passion and experience in the design and development of System Security solutions used in safety critical products used within the defence industry.

The Systems Security Lead will join a dynamic, focussed and growing team at the forefront of one of the most critical platforms in the future UK Armed forces?


This exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Systems Security Lead Engineer to manage the trade space between other Systems Functions and Security.

This role is based within the Systems Analysis Cyber Security Team and focussing initially on the Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) project


The Systems Security Lead will be the interface between product cyber security and other areas within the wider FCAS project and business such as; senior project management, systems engineering /architectural, trials and proving, requirements, software (for security aspects) and Manufacturing and Test equipment teams.

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Systems Engineering background with a technical qualification such as HNC, HND or Degree
  • An understanding of the priority and criticality of security functions and envelope of trade space, and wider systems design challenges
  • Management of customer expectations
  • Basic Security knowledge and willingness to learn more (more is better)
  • Negotiating skills
  • Assertiveness and ability to challenge decisions
  • Engineering lifecycle experience
  • Requirements (writing, managing and accessing)
  • Accreditation environment and stakeholder management
  • Competence to develop effective networks across the key stakeholders of MBDA
  • Willingness to undergo DV cleared is essential
You will need to obtain UK Security Clearance for this role. This will require you to either be a UK Citizen or UK Dual Citizen. Some restrictions may apply.
