George Wickham Ltd are seeking a Monday
and holiday cover driver required for our Luxtons and Alphington Pharmacies to deliver medicines to the housebound in and around Exeter and surrounding villages.

Typically driving 20 miles or less per day.

Normal day will be each Monday but excluding all Public/ Bank holidays

Hours paid as actually worked and claimed. This is a flexible job but a deliveries take place between 9-6pm Monday-Friday. Typically 4-5 hours a day.

Drivers must also be flexible to cover other working days when required due to holidays or illness. This is a job most suited to those looking for a gentle paced but stimulating job and who have patience to deal with both elderly and impaired housebound customers

Our past drivers have been those looking for some post-retirement work


Duties:

• Safely and efficiently operate our small electric delivery van to transport medicines to various locations in and around our two Exeter Pharmacies
• Load and unload items from the van, ensuring proper handling and securing of the cargo
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
• Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues
• Complete necessary paperwork to maintain accurate delivery records
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred but not essential
• Ability to drive an automatic transmission vehicle
• Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members
• Ability to lift moderately heavy object and perform physical tasks as required

Please note that this position will require occasional overtime work, depending on business needs.
