Nursery Assistant

42.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday, All year round

Salary ranging from £16,653 - £23,128 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
Cherrybrook Nursery are seeking an Nursery Assistant to join their team.

Within this role you will provide the highest standard of compliance, care and education for children and effectively manage daily operations of the nursery, including positive partnerships with management, colleagues and parents.


Nursery Assistant main duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times.
  • Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios.
  • Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent.
  • Observe and support children's development, update the EyLog system and children's learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt.
  • Provide the allaround daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development.

Nursery Assistant requirements and skills:


  • Undertaking a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification desirable
  • Fluent in written and spoken English essential.
  • Over 6 months experience of working in Early Years essential.
  • Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements desirable
