As the Head of Digital Transformation the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a number of digital programmes working with digital teams across the ICS to define the strategy and lead the implementation.

You will be expected to work flexibly and dynamically across a range of digital transformation projects as they arise.

Your expertise, knowledge and enthusiasm for digital transformation, digital leadership, digital innovation, and change projects will support the team to deliver ambitions outlined in the current Digital Strategy.

You will be working alongside a team of motivated and enthusiastic professionals from a variety of clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, with people from industry, academia, and graduates from the NHS Digital Academy and the Topol Fellowship.


provide support to the ICB Transformation Team and Clinical Programmes Groups to o evaluate potential digital solutions which may support those clinical areas o develop bids for funding o implement digital solutions The post-holder will be an active member of the Digital Transformation directorate, working with colleagues to deliver an integrated and high quality programme collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the ICS Communicate the programme vision at ICS and ICB executive boards.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with other senior managers and clinicians in the development of Digital Transformation strategies and plans in line with ICS service transformation plans, service management and national policy.


Develop and manage the Information Sharing digital strategy and roadmap, including Benefits and benefits management Resourcing options Timescales and inter-dependencies Risk management Financial plans, budgets and budget management Organising and participating in collaboration with partners where appropriate National programmes and national priorities Advice on procurement options and best approach Work with senior managers in the CCG and wider stakeholders to develop the case for investment in the programme, including formal business cases where appropriate.

Management of workstream budgets and supporting bid development for other funding sources Commission or undertake feasibility studies and options appraisals Help engender organisational readiness for the implementation of the programme eg by supporting the development of robust programme and project management processes; engagement and communication with service leads.

Work with suppliers and service leads to define implementation plans for major schemes; manage the relationship with suppliers during implementation.

Initiate and lead projects for agreed schemes, monitoring progress of individual projects and the overall programme, reporting formally to project and programme boards and liaising with wider health community groups.

Delivery will be managed using PRINCE2 or/and Agile methodologies. Secure external consultancy services where appropriate to support development of the programme, defining scope, process and deliverables.

As required support the recruitment and development of teams with the appropriate capability and capacity to implement the agreed programme whether managed directly or by others.

Provide advice and support on the procurement and implementation of systems, support formal procurement of solutions if necessary, following EU and NHS guidelines.

Provide input into the Information Sharing and Digitising Social Care workstreams in NHSE and other digital initiatives as required.

Maintain links with the Regional and National NHSE team through regular attendance at meetings such as the Regional Digital Delivery Board.

Key Working Relationships The post holder will be required to:

work in a leadership role with internal and external stakeholders, supporting collaborative working and nurturing positive working relationships, including regional and national networks.
