Carlisle Brake & Friction have permanent opportunities for Production Assembly Operatives at our facility in Pontypool.

Our products are safety critical, so experience of working to strict Safety and Quality standards in a manufacturing assembly environment, with the ability to understand and comply with operating procedures are key.

Job Purpose and Overview

The main purpose of the role is to assemble, process and pack a range of components into finished goods across various assembly lines, aftermarket and mech wash areas while working to strict safety and operating procedures, ensuring quality and production output requirements are achieved.

Key Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

Working on various production lines/cells; either alone or as part of a team, assembling, processing or packing components and subassemblies.
Load, unload and run test rigs and other equipment.
Carry out testing and other quality checks.
Packing and movement of finished goods to other areas.
Completion of relevant documentation/paperwork.
Report equipment failures to relevant person(s).
Raise any potential Safety and/or Quality issues to the relevant person(s)
Responsible for correct use of own PPE.
Basic packing, repacking and kitting of (Carlisle) aftermarket components.
Make up and prepare shipping containers (pallets and boxes) and print labels.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
Contributes to continuous improvement activities.

Location:
Pontypool, South Wales

Hours of Work:37hrs/5 days a week

Shift Pattern:
working a 3-shift rotational pattern, including nights ;

Mornings: Monday to Thursday: 5.45am 1.45pm, Fridays: 5.45am 1:15pm,
Afternoons: Monday to Thursday: 1.45pm 9.45pm, Fridays: 1:15pm 8.45pm
Nights: Monday to Thursday: 9.45pm 5.45am, Fridays: 8.45pm 4:15am.

Attractive rates of pay offered (inclusive of shift premium):

Morning/ Afternoon shifts
£12.43ph rising to £12.66ph after 4 weeks, depending on performance in role.
Night shift £13.29ph rising to £13.54ph after 4 weeks, depending on performance in role.
