About this client/child:

Twins Thomas and Carrie are 6 years old and live at home with Mum and Dad in North Woolwich. Thomas is an outgoing, energetic inquisitive, and bright young lad; he loves going to the playground, reading, and maths.

Carrie is a sweet, kind, and loving girlygirl who enjoys creative play such as jewelry making and all things arts and crafts, she also enjoys imaginative play, dressing up, and playing with her dolls.

Thomas is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition, he has a speech delay and can struggle withself-regulation. Carrie has selective mutism, generally triggered by social situations, however, is very chatty at home. Both children go to the same local school and Thomas attends the SEN provision within the school.


Overview of role:

This is a sole charge role caring for two children and assisting with the afterschool routine.

The SEN Nanny will be able to implement strategies and techniques to support Thomas with his self-regulation and Carrie with her social anxieties and be able to graduallybuild her confidence.

Your role will also include supporting the children with their self-help skills and continually promote their independence. The SEN Nanny will work in collaboration with the SENCO and parents.

The children finish school each day at 3.15pm,as the shift starts are 1pm you will have time to prepare activities, snacks, meals, run errands and complete light household duties.

Other typical Nanny duties include homework, drop off to afterschool activities, arranging fun and educational activities,organising outings etc.

Additional hours and pay are available for babysitting and there is the opportunity to travel with the family during school holidays, if desired.


Who this job would suit:


This is a busy family home, Mum and Dad both work full-time, so it is absolutely essential that the SEN Nanny is reliable, dedicated and able to commit to this role for a minimum of 12 months.

The successful applicant will be patient, calm, and kind with areal love and passion for working with children. The SEN Nanny will have excellent hands-on experience supporting children with ASC.
