Overview:


We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic ASYE Academy Business Support Specialist to provide a full, effective and confidential administrative support service to the ASYE Academy.

Please note that this is a fixed-term/secondment opportunity for 1 year.

About the role:


  • To ensure that all of the ASYE's are registered on the Skills for Care Portal when their course commences and ensure it is kept up to date with relevant data throughout the year.
  • Ensure that the correct fees are received from the Skills for Care Council
  • To attend and minute team meetings, strategy meetings and other meetings when required.
  • Together with the Academy Management Team coordinate training identified as essential to their course.
  • To produce and distribute a concise and accurate set of minutes (Strategy meetings/Professionals Meetings) suitable for use in legal proceedings if necessary within 24 hours of the meeting taking place.
  • To ensure that all service users and professionals are provided with accurate information about the outcome of assessments
  • To support the social workers in obtaining agency checks required for the completion of their assessments.
  • To support the Academy Managers with the induction of new staff.
  • To deal with enquiries and provide procedural advice to Social Care professionals, health professionals, other local authorities, families and any other service or organisations who are involved.
  • To assist Newly Qualified Social Workers to navigate admin systems
  • To raise invoices and enter onto SAP system when required.
  • To assist with the Step Up to Social Work programme which is a 14month intensive Social Work degree course. Buckinghamshire are the lead partners for the Southeast Regional Partnership.

About you:


  • Experience of dealing with diverse people and situations in a mature and professional way.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills
  • Ability to produce clear, concise and unambiguous minutes which accurately reflect discussions that have taken place.
  • Previous experience of dealing with the general public
  • Experience of maintaining databases
  • Experience of maintaining filing systems, ideally those based on electronic processes
  • Good organisation and general administration skills
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the Data Protection Act/GDPR and a proven track record in maintaining confidentiality
