As a trained Claims Handler, you will provide a call answering service and comprehensive claims handling from notification through to settlement to all customers and clients.

To ensure work undertaken is conducted in a manner that meets the client, business and regulatory requirements.


Our Claims Team members have a varied role and are responsible for investigation, handling, decision making and settling claims under delegated authority.


Role responsibilities:


  • Provide a call answering service and comprehensively manage claims from notification through to settlement to all customers and clients. To ensure work undertaken is conducted in a manner that meets the client, business and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing and be responsible for your own workload in accordance with agreed targets, to ensure work undertaken is conducted in a manner that meets the client, business and regulatory requirements.
  • Take calls and handle correspondence to resolve queries from clients, brokers and insurers relating to claims, processes and policy terms.
  • Consider, investigate, validate and make decisions on claims.
  • Instruct Agents and arrange payments covered by the underlying insurance policies.
  • Build relationships, trust and respect with clients, customers and service providers.
  • Take notification of all new claims, identify and validate any applicable cover that may be relevant.
  • Source and review evidence that may be relevant to the claim.
  • Assess Prospects of Success and negotiate with third parties.
  • Manage and drive the clients claim forwards taking into account both the client's and the business's needs, keeping all relevant stakeholders informed of any and all developments at all times.
  • Develop a deep understanding of cover available under all policies and relevant claims processes for motor and nonmotor insurance.
  • Build and maintain a good understanding of regulatory requirements and civil litigation.
  • Manage diary/task lists for claims.
  • Undertake any tasks which may be required to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Adhere to FSA and Data Protection regulations.
  • Work to targets on both quality/quantity of work.
  • Work well with others.
  • Confident communicator at all levels.
  • Organise themselves, selfmotivated with the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Meet targets / deadlines.
  • Learn new processes quickly and develop a deep understanding of the work being undertaken.
  • Evidence a sound education with a minimum of 3 GCSE's, including English and Maths, graded A-C or 5 upwards.
  • Make sound decisions and be able to justify them.
