£23,407 - £24,840 per annum, dependent on experience

What you'll be doing


This role will see you working with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities to deliver curriculum-linked activities that will increase students understanding of nature and the environment.

Your day to day will include developing, planning, and delivering outdoor learning activities to a wide-ranging audience.

This will involve leading groups of all abilities in the local environment, ensuring you always have the health and safety of the group in mind.


When you are not working in the field, you will also be happy to contribute to other aspects of working in a busy education centre.

This is a very active role, some weeks will be long and tiring, but our tutors find this work very rewarding, and we promise you will too

Where you'll be based


Field Studies Council Preston Montford, is situated in the heart of Shropshire on the banks of the River Severn with views into Wales.

The Centre is set in a 12-hectare estate which is managed to provide a rich range of habitats.

Field Studies Council Preston Montford opened as an outdoor education centre in 1957.

Since then it has been developed a reputation for high quality learning in Biology and Geography for the widest range of learners; from pre-school to Masters level.

The centre offers both day and residential learning courses and is available as a venue for others to use.

It can accommodate up to 130 visitors and has 6 fully equipped teaching and meeting spaces, a library, common rooms and a bar.
