As a Barclays Lead Solution Architect, you will be developing and leading end-to-end technical solutions for Barclays Partner Finance team.

Barclays Partner Finance (BPF) is one of the UK's largest providers of point-of-sale finance. It offers financeproducts via a client distribution channel that helps consumers by making their purchases more affordable.

You will be collaborating with other engineering and architecture functions, business and technology stakeholders to deliver fit for purpose and strategictechnical solutions, in particular those initiatives that drive modernisation, re-platforming and large scale change/transformation.

What will you be doing?:

Acting as Lead Architect within a business area that has true customer and colleague impacts. Your solutions and designs will change their banking and working lives
Being the technology expert to whom that business area trusts to realise their aspirations on how they can best drive their business forward in helping our customers
Driving long term end to end technical and architectural solutions aligned with overall platform roadmaps and Barclays UK technology strategy
Partnering with the business lines during the business development life cycle by serving as a solution SME to help identify and qualify business development opportunities
Driving platform innovation and roadmaps to modernise and future proof the technology estates and uplift resiliency, stability, security and simplification
Enabling agile delivery through continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), test automation ,at all levels, and infrastructure as code

What we're looking for:

Significant experience of leading detailed design and implementation of scalable, robust and performant solutions using a number of technologies, including Java
Significant experience integrating disparate systems and designing effective APIs with most appropriate technologies
Experience of microservices, containerisation, elastic, scalable and distributed architecture and a wide range of databases including traditional RDBMS and NoSQL
Familiar with domaindriven design and other architectural patterns and frameworks

Skills that will help you in the role:

Ability to lead solutions in depth at all levels including architecture, interface specification, code structure, network protocols, operations and troubleshooting
Understanding of cloud native engineering practices including high release cadence, ease of deployment without downtime, extreme reliability and resilience
Strong analytical skills and proven ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex outcomes, linkages and messages to technical/nontechnical audiences
Experience with public cloud

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.

The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
