Description
We're among the first to respond when there is a fire, flood or severe weather.

From making a cup of tea to trekking through snow and sleet to deliver the essentials, the British Red Cross works with other organisations to do what's needed straight away.

This service operates 24/7 and is staffed by volunteers on an on-call rota.

To be a part of this Emergency Response Service, we are looking for volunteers who:

  • Can be on call for 2 shifts per month on a 24/7 rota, shift times midnight , or midnight
  • Can get to Croft House, Western Avenue, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE4 8SR, within 30 minutes.
  • Have held a driving licence for at least 2 years which allows you to drive in the UK, have access to a vehicle and be willing to drive a Red Cross vehicle
  • Attend team meeting nights second Thursday of each month at Adelaide House, Belmont Business Park, Durham, DH1 1TW
