Role purpose

To work in co-ordination with the other elements of The Alnwick Garden & Lilidorei to delight our customers. To ensure a clean internal and external environment of The Alnwick Garden premises including Lilidorei and the Treehouse restaurant. To undertake daily cleaning within the site and any designated areas to the highest standard.


Overview
The Alnwick Garden is an award-winning visitor attraction, and charity, located in Alnwick Northumberland.

With excess of 360,00 visitors annually The Garden is commercially driven, and visitor focused; whilst also operating as a charity (with associated values) - this provides a unique culture.

The latest addition to The Alnwick Garden offer is Lilidorei - due to open in Spring 2023;

Lilidorei is the brainchild of The Duchess of Northumberland and is a multimillion-pound fantasy-themed recreational attraction located in the heart of Alnwick and will be part of The Alnwick Garden.


The attraction will consist of the largest play structure of its kind, which will include fairy grottos and goblin lairs providing families, particularly children, a unique place full of fun, an imaginative experience of storytelling and outdoor adventures.


One of the main aims of Lilidorei is to encourage children to explore and to nurture their imaginative and creative minds.

The play structure includes an enchanted village housing various fantasy, folklore, and mystical characters such as goblins, hobgoblins, dwarves, elves, fairies, pixies and sprites.

In addition, it will also have the biggest slide in the world.


Duties and Responsibilities
Report ready to work as allocated on the rota or as requested by your line manager.

To ensure all areas are cleaned to the highest standard:
To ensure toilets are cleaned and stocked.

To ensure that corridors, entrances and public areas are cleaned and free from litter.

To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities.

Deep cleaning is completed during the winter season under the direction and supervision of the Cleaning Team Leader.

To ensure the correct use of materials and equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction and recommendations.

To use, where appropriate, powered equipment including floor cleaners in undertaking cleaning duties.

To advise the Visitor Operations Manager of any factors that are likely to affect work schedules.

To inform the Visitor Operations Manager of any mechanical failure or equipment unsafe for use.

Be prepared to work evenings and weekend as and when necessary.


Ensure that the correct procedure is carried out whilst dealing with missing children, administering first aid if qualified and site evacuation.

You must comply with health and safety, equality opportunities, welfare at work and security.

To carry out any other reasonable duties requested by your line manager or senior member of staff


Person Specification
The successful applicant will have

Experience of working in a customer service environment.

Excellent communication skills

Flexibility to work in all areas

The ability to remain calm under pressure

The capacity to work collaboratively and enthusiastically with teams and individuals at all levels of the organisation

Possess an outgoing and friendly personality.

Ability to work in a values driven organisation

The capacity to be reliable and punctual.
