The BRC is seeking a Digital Content Producer to promote its activities, outputs and impact, build public and patient engagement with our research and make sure information reaches our target audiences.

The postholder will coordinate the input from a variety of stakeholders to generate content for and manage the BRC website, social media communications and other relevant channels.

Supporting planning, delivery and follow-up of BRC events in digital or hybrid format will also be part of the role.

This position is full time funded for 2 years in the first instance with the possibility of extension. The Royal Marsden has a flexible work space, so the postholder will be provided with laptop for flexible working.


This role will coordinate content from our NIHR BRC, RM Marketing and Communications and ICR Media teams to enable our NIHR BRC to promote its activities, outputs and impact to internal and external stakeholders.

The web content will build public and patient engagement with our research and make sure information reaches our target audiences.

The Digital Content Producer will generate content for and manage the BRC website, social media feed and other relevant channels, working closely with the PR and Communications and Digital team.

It will also manage the social media feed for our NIHR CRF. The post holder will also support with crafting regular communications messages within the RM Clinical Research Directorate.


Supporting content provision for BRC external and internal high-profile events including conferences/workshops, training events to support delivery of the BRC Career Development strategy and patient and public engagement events, will be an important part of the role.


To ensure success, the postholder will be part of both the BRC team and the Marketing and Communications Team working cross site and sitting and working in both teams.


They will be proactive and highly organised, with a working knowledge of a broad range of communications disciplines, including social media and digital and have excellent attention to detail.

Digital Communications

  • Lead on the continuous improvement of the BRC website and update content on a regular basis in conjunction with the Head of Digital, BRC Manager, the BRC Themes Operational Leads, the Research Career Development Manager and the RM Head of PPI/E. Liaise with ICR Media team for clinical related press releases to redraft and upload onto the website.
  • Work closely with the RM Digital Team to ensure delivery of a firstclass digital communications service for the BRC including raising awareness of BRC activities, outputs and impact and wider RM research activities
  • Develop content for impactful BRC and CRF social media campaigns working closely with the RM Social Media Manager
  • Collate, edit, produce and publish engaging digital content, stories, blogs and features (text, imagery and video) on the BRC website
  • Working with the Trust Marketing Team and in house videographer, coordinate the production of videos when necessary.
Events organisation

  • Support the planning, organisation, delivery and follow up of maximum one strategic workshop/ meeting per year
  • Provide assistance in organising internal events, such as the Patient and Public Engagement events (maximum 2/year).
